I am a family law barrister practicing in private children law and financial relief (including TLATA and Sch1). I represent all parties at all stages in proceedings, and am a rigorous and forceful advocate. I have a particular interest in cases with an international dimension, and have:- Represented a wife in financial proceedings commencing in the Royal Courts of Justice under the MFPA 1984 following an overseas divorce through to resolution, to include injunctive applications, non-disclose and overseas assets;- Represented a father seeking s.8 CA 1989 orders in respect of children who resided in Turkey, and invited the High Court to accept jurisdiction under Brussels II Revised;- Represented parties seeking to register, vary and enforce orders overseas;- Represented parties on applications to relocate outside of the jurisdiction.I write for Family Law Week on a regular basis, and also accept instructions directly from members of the public.For more information see my profile at http://3pb.co.uk/profile/esther-lieu

I accepted tenancy at Queen Square Chambers following completion of pupilage in Coram Chambers (London). During this period I built up a strong client base amongst practitioners in the Western Circuit (and beyond)

I undertook a 12 month pupillage exclusively in family law with Coram Chambers, London with a busy practice in my second six months.

I managed a multi-partner international project focused on providing written legal advice to individuals and their lawyers on their rights under European Law. I provided direct legal representation on appeals before Social Security Tribunals and assisted in drafting submissions before European Court of Human Rights and Court of Justice of the European Union. As the Legal Project Manager of an Anti-trafficking Project, I organised conferences on the rights of victims of trafficking under national and international law.

Training as a Child Protection Officer in Liberia for six months I worked with communities, Government and UN officials and partners to strengthen the practical and legal protection for children affected by armed conflict, exploitation and cross-border trafficking. Over the course of six months in India (Bihar and West Bengal) I worked with communities to address the impact of natural disasters on gender based violence and with local governments to strengthen and enforce support frameworks at a local and national level.
