A).Construction Quality Assurance1.Conducting quality assurance checks on all kinds of construction works within the five coastal counties of Mombasa, Kilifi, Kwale, Lamu and Taita Taveta to ensure compliance to regulatory safety and environmental policies;2.Summarizing the outcome of the quality assurance operations and making recommendations to the Authority, developers, contractors and government agencies on appropriate action;B).Buildings Audit and Investigations1.Involved in the detailed audit and appraisal of existing structures together with the National Building Inspectorate and County governments to assure their safety and usability.2.Make recommendations of remedial measures to developers and also advice on demolition where necessary.3.Involved in the investigation into causes of structural failure cracks of three multi storey buildings at Old Town,Mombasa.C).Project Evaluation and Reporting1.Assist evaluate project registration documents received from developers to ensure correctness and compliance before being licensed by the authority,2.Assist prepare Monthly, quarterly, half and full year reports detailing the performance of the regional office.D).Liaison with Government Agencies and Stakeholders1.Coordinating with other government agencies on construction matters and ensure good stakeholder relationships within the five coastal counties.2.Initiate, review and respond to correspondence between the authorities and stakeholders.
