Global Health - Global Health PsychologyMY MISSION IS TO SHINE A LIGHT ON MARGINALIZED AND VULNERABLE GROUPSWith a background in international public health, health psychology and pediatric nursing, I am inclined to link knowledge across disciplines and to work in multidisciplinary teams. My work focuses on the impact of adversity (extreme poverty, diaspora) on physical and mental health outcomes.I am further exploring ways to make the output of research available for a wider audience. That means that in addition to a publication in a peer-reviewed journal I am looking for other ways of research communication (e.g. education materials). At the moment I am exploring options for a creative presentation of research findings such as a photo-book, podcast or a multi-media production. My current projects focus on:- the double burden of malnutrition in urban slums in low and middle income countries- the multidimensional impact of COVID-19 in slum settings in India- the dreams and future orientation of undocumented migrants living in the Netherlands
