I contribute to the ACHI project in Ghana. ACHI aims to boost the horticulture sector in Ghana by training young motivated farming enthusiasts on the necessary climate-smart practices and sustainable entrepreneurial skills to become successful in horticulture. To do this, the ACHI project brings together the 5 agricultural colleges in Ghana, the Holland Green Tech Ghana team and their broad network of lead farmers and industry players all over Ghana. My task is to co-create the sustainable entrepreneurship part of the training program, together with the teachers from all 5 colleges.

I support organisations with innovative new business directions and businessideas in Sustainable Entrepreneurship. I enjoy creating awareness and motivating people to turn dreams into realistic plans and subsequently into reality! I develop training sessions on Sustainable Entreprensuership for different target groups (business, governmental organisations, educational institutes such as NIVE Opleidingen, IBO Business School, The Hague University of Applied Science, schoolchildren Calvijn Pregymnasium, startups)

Movendi Foundation strives to improve the lives of physically challenged people in developing countries by setting up entrepreneurial projects. We focus on setting up local workshops and training local technicians. We work with skilled volunteers that would like to contribute by donating some of their time, and expertise to our project partners. Example project: Moves projects (several locations worldwide), Movendi volunteers developed a hand driven tricycle that enables physically challenged people to participate in street trade. The tricycle was produced in local workshops. Through collaboration with industry parties, a viable revenue model was developed. After the first pilot project the design was shared open source.In 2003/2006 I have worked in India for 6 months. Together with four colleagues, we set up a workshop, developed several products for the target group and trained local technicians how to develop products for physically challenged people.www.movendifoudantion.org

Scheveningen, South Holland, Netherlands

With a group of green-minded people from Scheveningen, we initiated the Minder Grijs Meer Groen initiative ('bewonersinitiatief') to create more public nature in the streets of Scheveningen Dorp. Together with Sant en Co, an innovative toolbox was developed to determine what types of trees and plants do fit in which area (with the respect to the distance to the sea) and in what types of streets. The trees are currently being planted.Projects related to Minder Grijs Meer Groen:Sharing Rain barrels: In collaboration with Fonds1818, we install rain barrels in the streets of Scheveningen. These rain barrels allow people to water the plants together. On top of the barrel there's a plant holder with fresh herbs, also meant to be shared with neighbours.Green Library: We started an online library to share garden plants, seeds, cuttings and houseplants. We plan to set up a physical location as well.

Scheveningen, South Holland, Netherlands

I set up a project to stimulate households as well as other organizations in Scheveningen to install solar panels on the rooftop. In collaboration with Gasvrij Scheveningen, I prepared a subsidy proposal that made the initial investment for the participants more affordable. A total of 215 panels were installed during this period.

Delft

Between 2007 and 2019, I developed several education programs on Sustainable Entrepreneurship at Delft University of Technology. The courses are open to students from all faculties ( BSc, MSc and PhD level). All my courses are related to the topic of sustainable entrepreneurship in the broadest sense. For example, together with colleagues, I developed a new "Minor program" (=6 months fulltime education for BSc students) focussed on: International Entrepreneurship & Development. Furthermore a master program focussing on the execution of a feasibility study for new sustainable business ideas. The courses inspire students to become more entrepreneurial and some of the participant even start their own businesses. I am proud to have several succesful start-ups amongst my alumni such as Physee Power Window, Kartent, aQysta and many others!

Together with my business partner Boukje Vastbinder, I set up Enyini, a company focussing in stimulation of Sustainable Entrepreneurship. We generated knowledge about sustainable entrepreneurship available to those who are interested to make a change in an entrepreneurial way. Our training programs and consultancy were open to enthusiastic individuals, companies, educational institutes, NGO’s, INGO’s, and others. We developed our own course materials and worked for a variety of clients such as IHC Merwede, GiTP, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (through a subsidy program), several universities of applied schience, ASN Bank, STarters4Communities, Stichting Imaging, Cordaid.

Delft Area, Netherlands

During these three years I had three main tasks in this part time position:1-Set up a research project to gain insight in communication processes at the operating room during surgical procedures. The results were presented and published at several conferences and a journal.2-Designed a new steering mechanism for an endocope (to be used during minimal invasive surgery).3-Set up a BioLab in which experiments on animal tissue were executed safely and according to the standards.
