Esther Reilly, Phd Email and Phone Number
I recently started a new position as a Proposal Manager at Element Fleet Management. I am excited to use my writing and editing expertise from academic work and teaching to contribute towards Element's win strategies. Before joining Element Fleet Management, I worked as a Teaching Assistant in the School of English at Trinity College Dublin. I taught tutorials on nineteenth-century literature, gothic literature, children's literature (ranging from the Romantic period to contemporary children's literature), and cultural retellings of classic literature. I submitted my doctoral thesis on December 31st, 2023 and successfully defended it on April 3rd, 2024. My thesis examines Wilkie Collins's work in the context of nineteenth-century debates on extreme bodily differences, ranging from physical disability to exceptional ability. It explores how Collins sensationalizes the freakish body to destabilize Victorian ideas and images of normative personhood, shedding light on the life stories of real freak show performers that Collins drew on in writing his freak characters. I hold a Master of Philosophy in Children's Literature from Trinity College Dublin and a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature from the University of Pittsburgh. In addition to my academic pursuits, I have taught English Language at a language school for ESL students in Dublin, Ireland. I also have experience as an Executive Assistant to the CEO of BioEclipse Therapeutics, a targeted biotherapy company, at Johnson & Johnson Labs, South San Francisco Bay. Before working for BioEclipse, I spent time working part-time in sales with The Home Depot and Dyson. My varied academic and working background has equipped me with valuable skills in managing, training, interpersonal relationships, and communication, making me a self-managing, dependable, and highly motivated employee.Outside of work, I enjoy practicing jiu-jitsu, hiking/trekking, scuba diving, and playing the trumpet.
