Risk Management Technologies developed ChemAlert, a software package underlining chemicals safety within the workplace. At a glance, clients have access to GHS (Globally Harmonised System) compliant Safety Data Sheets (SDS), Risk Management tools, Chemical Request tracking, and above all, a Stock Register of all the chemicals present on site. Early on at RMT, I learned to interpret and understand Safety Data Sheets in order to populate ChemAlert. I authored Safety Data Sheets through research of raw material for distribution by suppliers within Australia. Safety Data Sheets are governed to comply with GHS regulations, which were adopted by Australia in 2012. Having a thorough understanding of GHS as well as Australian Dangerous Goods Code, State Regulations, Australian Standards and Codes of Practice, I was able to independently complete Dangerous Goods audits on client sites for the safe storage and handling of industrial chemicals. I compiled technical reports for clients highlighting non-compliance as well as best practice recommendations. The nature of this work required me to work independently and have exceptional organisational, research, planning and communication skills.I established a thorough understanding of the ChemAlert program and how it integrates with safety in the workplace, I worked closely with clients to ensure a smooth implementation of ChemAlert paired with tailored training. There was extensive follow up to support the clients through phone, email and teleconference post implementation. I developed excellent customer support skills and am able to put into perspective what it is a client really wants and report back the client's needs to the team of developers.

Each year, WRA provides professional care for more than 5,000 animals in distress. I coordinated a team of staff and volunteers to answer over 20,000 calls in a year, which ranges from rescuing animals to educating the general public to responding to time critical/sensitive species cases.I ensured that each shift is covered with sufficient staff and volunteers to handle call volume, rescues, transport and releases of animals.I continued to implement existing operational plans as well as contribute to creating new plans that are forward thinking, easy to track and allowed measurable success. Furthermore, I successfully contributed to implementing a new software to streamline caller/donor details to ensure WRA continue to develop relationships with callers even after the emergency has passed. A complete training package was also rolled out to ensure users are not overwhelmed by the new interface.Safety in the workplace is a passion of mine which is why I was on the Health & Safety Committee as well to ensure each colleague and volunteer came to work in an environment thoroughly inspected and safe.

Upon completing my Bachelor of Science (Hons), I worked as a research assistant at Kings Park Botanical Gardens in the plant genetics, restoration ecology and ecosystem preservation teams. I was extracting, genotyping and analyzing plant DNA, where attention to details was vital as cross contamination was a major concern.
