TAEL Partners is the largest ASEAN-based private equity growth fund manager with >USD1.6B in investments across Southeast Asia. Responsibilities include assessment and due diligence of new and follow-on investments, financial modelling, preparation of investment proposals and investor updates, legal documentation, in-depth portfolio management and value creation, planning and development of corporate exercises and exit initiatives, and supporting fundraising initiatives. Notable experiences include: - Based in Thailand for ~1 year in 2019 to support and oversee the planning and execution of financial and operational value creation initiatives for TAEL’s investee.- Collaborated closely with the business partner and the investee’s management to put in place financial management frameworks to strengthen financial reporting and internal controls, including implementation of financial policies, process flows, cashflow monitoring, annual budgets and KPI frameworks.- Supported the formulation of operational strategies to drive profitability whilst putting in place systematic frameworks to guide and manage risk in business development and execution.- Board representative for 1 of TAEL’s investee company since Sept 2019.- Led the development of an impact measurement framework which was approved and incorporated as the firm’s basis for impact measurement for future investments under one of its initiatives. - Played a key role in supporting one of TAEL’s fundraising initiatives. Key contributions include spearheading the drafting of the placement memo, putting in place and launching the virtual data room, and engaging with potential investors on due diligence.

Notable transactions include:- Bridge and mezzanine financing for the acquisition of an international school in Singapore by a regional private equity firm.- Mezzanine financing for select acquisitions and capital expenditure of a primary healthcare company in Malaysia.- Bridge financing for the privatization of a listed company in Singapore.- Mezzanine financing for the acquisition of an enterprise telecommunication player in Hong Kong.- Mezzanine financing for the acquisition of an education asset in Vietnam.- Mezzanine financing for the development of a power plant project in Malaysia.- Development financing for a residential real estate project in Australia.
