Merck Millipore (EMD as it is known in the US) is a global leader in bio-science, bio-technology, and pharmaceutical manufacturing equipment. As a member of the Design and Innovation team, I worked on a groundbreaking project that brought the principles of Design into this high-tech company. Some of my contributions were: +Developed the Product Design Guide for all future Merck Millipore - Bioprocess products.+Managed Product Design Guide scope, WBS, and schedule to deliver on time and without scope creep.+Successfully designed and launched a Design Thinking workshop with Continuum Innovation to train key personnel on the process of Design Thinking to drive innovation within the organization.+Conducted user-research and workflow analysis for `ChromaBolt', a single-use chromatography column.+Provided support to product development teams with 2D concept visualization and 3D CAD modeling.+Created 3D renderings for concept development and IP assessment.

Design Museum Boston is a fantastic non-profit organization dedicated to highlighting the design horsepower available in Boston. As a volunteer I was involved in the following tasks:+Set up of equipment, food and beverage, lights and signage for launch event and other major public events.+Guiding, helping or directing event-goers to various areas of the venue as required. +Managed a fund-raising booth at the 'Creative Capital' event hosted in Boston City Hall. +Answering questions about the organization and promoting the website.

At ISPACE I worked closely with the Design Director and a team of very talented people to develop exciting consumer electronic products, an interactive technology site for airport terminals, and tiny, squishy little corners called 'Nobooboo' with futuristic gel materials. As a member of this small team, some of my main responsibilities were:+Researched and analyzed client's market objectives to find latent needs and new design opportunities.+Provided background research and other documentation for client's provisional patent filing.+Created concept prototypes with 3D CAD and rapid prototyping tools (Z-corp, SLA).+Designed packaging mock-ups and prototypes for `Nobooboo' brand SKUs.+Created layouts for marketing materials, including booklets for proposal presentation.

At Artisent I had the opportunity to assist in a variety of projects ranging from medical product development to military helmet assembly. My role as an intern allowed me to work with 3D modeling tools (such as MicroScribe), assist in the production of prototypes for R&D and support senior designers in their project assignments.+Assisted in the creation of prototypes and managed the final assembly of wearable military equipment.+Analyzed current helmet designs through the use of MicroScribe and Alias Studio 3D software.+Finished SLA models for client meetings. Included sanding, priming and painting looks-like models.+Discussed product development process in client meetings and tested prototypes on-site with clients.+Constructed vacuum formed parts and urethane rubber molds.

A resident assistant is a professionally trained individual who is part of the student body, whose role is to serve as a bridge between his/her residents (other students) and the professional residential life staff. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, acting as a para-counselor for students, being a familiar first resource for students with academic or institutional questions, and enforcing residence policies. In this role I:+Managed administrative tasks including incident reports, room condition forms, maintenance requests, and staff meeting reports.+Planned and conducted educational programs on diversity, relationships, academic performance, drug abuse and social networking.+Served as a mentor and advisor for 36 undergraduate students.+Sat on various committees to plan, create and execute and manage campus-wide events.+Enforced institute policy and code of conduct in my residence hall.
