Cleared the audit finding by building a technology delivery playbook that adhered to bank standards while enabling the flexibility required by Treasury and secured agreement on a multi-year roadmap to modernize and simplify the underlying business and technical architecture.

Led three-step process to ensure effectiveness of controls for assessing and reporting Trading Risk for TD (primarily in Capital Markets). Performed wide-reaching assessment of controls creating a series of recommendations, implemented those recommendations to close the control gaps, and established a program to revitalize the business and technology architecture target state.Through driving the change, all control gaps were closed and a new architecture was created that would serve as the foundation for Trading Risk for years to come including anticipating new regulatory changes (i.e. Volcker, Fundamental Review of the Trading Book) that would make those implementations easier to achieve.

Initial focus on regulatory compliance with Basel 2, then used the learnings and credibility from that experience to expand to a broader strategic program.Successfully complied with Basel 2 regulation including identifying opportunities for reduction of capital by improving data quality. Broader strategic program was curtailed by challenges from rogue trader, leading to Trading Risk Review.

Though automation, was able to reduce time by 90% - down to 2 hours for one person to run all 3 books without any audit or stakeholder concerns. Also ensured processes were effectively documented.
