I am currently still working as a Level 2 SEQ qualified swimming instructor in a different workplace. I found it easy to settle in and work well with the children I teach along with their parents and my colleagues. I have now gained more experience in this field including working with individuals with special needs and in teaching adults on a one-to-one basis. I'm looking forward to continuing my work and gaining even more experience and knowledge in adapting my approach when needed.

I have worked as a SEQ Level 1 Swimming Assistant and SEQ Level 2 Swimming Teacher from 2016 to 2022. I spent a lot of time in the water supporting children from ages 2 to 16 during lessons through correcting strokes, reassuring and calming down younger swimmers and assisting the other Swimming Teachers with things such as equipment and organisation. I have good communication skills, especially with lower age groups but also with my colleagues and swimmers' parents along with good time-keeping skills and a lot of experience with working in a swimming pool environment. I also taught classes of children aged 2 to 17 with lesson plans that are fun and engaging while being suited to the Learn to Swim framework. This job improved my skills in time-keeping and communication with people of all ages along with organising and managing others such as Swimming Assistants and gave me much more experience teaching swimming and being in a role requiring more responsibility and leadership.
