I provide support to the Galveston Bay Refinery HF Alkylation Unit DMC application. I also support a project to implement a new DMC application at the refinery.

I supported Oil Movements and Docks as an area team process control engineer until April 2019, working primarily with the DCS applications. Oil Movements was a Honeywell TPS TDC3000 / Experion DCS with some Allen-Bradley PLCs, while Docks was an Experion DCS with Modicon / Allen-Bradley PLCs (no Honeywell controllers).In April 2019, I transitioned to supporting the Hydrocracker, Aromatics Recovery, and Naphtha Desulfurization Units. The Hydrocracker was an Emerson DeltaV DCS with Triconex and DeltaV SIS safety systems, while the Aromatic Recovery Units and Naptha Desulfurization Units were on one Experion / TPS TDC 3000 DCS with Triconex SIS. I helped commission a new Selective Hydrogenation Unit and Naphtha Desulfurization Unit in December 2019.During my tenure as an area team process control engineer, I developed experience tuning controllers, designing/implementing control schemes, troubleshooting/modifying Triconex/DeltaV SIS logic, troubleshooting/modifying Allen-Bradley ladder logic, and supporting Aspen DMC applications.

I supported the Galveston Bay Refinery Saturated Gas and HF alkylation Units for approximately two years. I monitored, optimized, and provided process troubleshooting support for these units. I also helped develop and implement capital projects for these units. I developed process modeling experience with both Aspen HYSYS and KBC Petro-Sim. During my tenure, I also supported HF Alkylation Unit Deinventory Drum and Sulfur Recovery Unit turnarounds.
