The North East Raising Aspiration Partnership is a collaboration of five universities in the North East of England. Its goal is to support care-experienced young people in thinking about their futures through experience of higher education. My role as a representative includes showcasing my experience of higher education, promoting accessibility towards university, and inspiring young people to dream big and reach their goals.

This role involves supporting prospective students with applications via tailored guidance, as well as promoting and providing opportunities for students to attend research-intensive universities.

I currently work as a Student Ambassador, and I was a former Student Ambassador for Newcastle University. This is a highly flexible position that allows me to work around my dental surgery degree. The role enables me to gain and use valuable interpersonal skills, doing various roles such as giving tailored student advice, helping out with University lead Open Days, and travelling to various institutions across the UK, promoting Newcastle University to a wider demographic.

I worked as an Amazon fulfilment associate, handling and processing orders, gaining valuable teamwork skills, learning the importance of meeting goals, and working within a fast-paced environment. My ability to do so was recognised, as I achieved my 2k badge, for packing 2,000 items within one shift.

I worked as a hospital volunteer on a busy acute surgical ward. This aided my development of interpersonal communication and listening skills and allowed me to gain experience and insight into working in clinical environments. My role involved maintaining principles of infection control during the pandemic, meeting patients' non-clinical needs and offering them emotional support and care.
