My name is Ethan Carson and I am a Criminal Justice major at the University of North Texas. I was born in Dallas Texas, however, I attended middle and high school abroad due to my father’s career with the US State Department. I lived in Beijing, Brussels, and Vienna before returning to the United States to attend college. During my time living abroad, I met many interesting people and got to know a lot about other cultures. I think that these experiences made me a better person and taught me more about the varied world that we live in. It also made me more interested in how the government works and gave me a firsthand look into how it operates and the variety of things needed in order to keep something like an embassy running efficiently.I graduated from the Vienna International School with several IB credits and am now a sophomore in my second semester at the University of North Texas. I have obtained the President’s and Dean’s Lists for academic success. I major in Criminal Justice with minors in anthropology and history. Prior to college, I have been employed at two different embassies in a variety of different roles as a temporary hire. At the American Embassy in Brussels, I worked as a warehouse employee handling furniture. I also helped deliver the furniture to embassy housing throughout the city. At the US Embassy in Vienna, I worked in the mailroom. While in the mailroom, I assisted in deliveries, managed mail, and worked in customer support.I plan to pursue a career in law enforcement, hopefully managing to secure a job in a federal agency such as the FBI or the US Marshals.
