I was trained in the Navy as a Gas Turbine Mechanic before being sent out to my first duty station at Assault Craft Unit Four to work on hovercraft. LCAC's (Landing Craft Air Cushion) required technical knowledge of a hovercraft utilizing various propulsion and lift systems in order to keep the machines in mission ready condition. Shortly after my first deployment I took on a position in a new detachment as Lead Planner and a supervisory position for the ranks below me on my second deployment. Working with our QA department and writing/planning jobs became a regular part of my day until I was honorably discharged from the Navy. At Gehl Food's since my time of arrival I've been trained as a technician on aseptic fillers and the processes needed to maintain sterility on the machines when problems arise. Starting as a technician here my skills with troubleshooting and repair on equipment both mechanically and electrically has nothing but improved in a production factory setting. Replacing/troubleshooting 3 phase motors are a common job as well as various servo drives located in the plant. PLC programming and troubleshooting electrical components relating back to it has become very familiar to me, working in tandem with our plants engineers to continually expand my knowledge within them. I look forward to learning from any new challenges within a production facility.
