I was promoted to the paper's highest-profile patch, Manchester City Centre, after a year on the team. In this role, I was tasked with finding exclusives and working on features on the way my beat had changed in a period of rapid development.

I covered Stockport for the MEN during my time learning the ropes and going through my senior reporter qualifications. I covered live breaking news, court, inquests, and produced features. This role made me proficient in Facebook Live videos, live blogging, and writing longer-form stories.

Responsible for covering Cheshire's two councils (Cheshire East and Cheshire West & Chester), by producing a variety of written copy, social media reports, and video content. Unearthed the Handforth Parish Council 'Jackie Weaver' video.

Studied for NCTJ with News Associates. Achieved gold standard, including 100wpm shorthand.
