Network EngineerTeksystems Mar 2007 - Jun 2007Hanover, Md, UsDeveloped and deployed a state-wide network monitoring and traffic statistics collection system for the client, Time-Warner Cable/RoadRunner. Rolled out a script-driven, push-button-deployed site capture application based on MRTG, but with enhancements to accommodate RoadRunner's specific needs (parsing Cisco and Iron Foundry-proprietary SNMP MIBs to track environmental data on top of raw traffic data). The four site demonstration prototype was used on its first weekend of operation to quantify and locate a live outage, and was credited with cutting more than 50% off the usual time to research the problem, permitting a swifter response to restore full service to the subscribers. -
