Responsible for maintenance of the light rail Metro transportation fleet:• Fault investigation on mechanical, electrical and pneumatic systems. Diagnosis carried out using test equipment and electrical and pneumatic technical drawings.• Reactive maintenance to ensure a safe and reliable fleet is available for service.• Preventative maintenance and vehicle inspection.• Planned maintenance on major components and systems.• Effective communication with the team to ensure standards are maintained i.e. productivity, safety and metro schedules. • Compliance with health and safety standards in a safety critical environment.

Project to rebuild and commission Stadler’s BMU4 403 mainline train:• Electrical rewiring of V8 generator.• Testing and fault finding of compressor systems using Stadler’s bespoke test facility.• Rebuild, overhaul and refitting of compressor systems.• Test runs on mainline track for the commissioning of passenger safety equipment.• Updates on AWS, TPWS and TCMS software systems.• Replacement of traction motor transformers.• Wiring and installation of PIS and CCTV systems.• Wiring and testing of door step ultrasonic sensors.

Responsible for assembly, overhaul, fault finding and repair of a wide range of products used in the offshore and subsea Oil and Gas industry. Products include Fluid transfer swivels, subsea manifolds, bend stiffener connectors, hot stabs, receptacles, pig launchers/receivers and subsea valves. Duties included:• Product assembly in accordance with company/client assembly and test procedures. Accurate recording of stage assembly documentation, part checklists and critical measurements.• Fault finding/troubleshooting and subsequent repair/service of product returned from offshore, includes mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic components.• Product hydrostatic pressure testing and recording using hydraulic oil, water, compressed air and gas up to 20000 psi test pressures.• Safe slinging of large assemblies (up to 20 tons) and operation of fork lift truck during product assembly/test.• Installation/servicing of test rigs for Load/Pull, SIT (System Integration) and FAT (Factory Acceptance) tests.• Producing and installing small bore tubing for hydraulic manifolds and panels.• Torque/tensioning of Products using hydraulic tooling and pneumatic pumps. Responsible for service/maintenance of torque/tension equipment.• Comply with stringent company safety procedures associated with Oil and Gas equipment.• Project risk assessments as part of a team including designers, project engineers, QA and H&S.• Work with external contractors and clients’ inspectors during hydrostatic testing.• Carry out weekly checks on Overhead cranes (8, 12.5 & 16 ton units), fork lift truck and air compressor.

• Assembly of high pressure hydraulic tools including torque wrenches, bolt tensioners, nut splitters, hydraulic hoses and pumps for use in topside and subsea environments.• Pressure testing (700/1500 bar) and calibration /certification of hydraulic tools following company procedures.• Service and maintenance of customer bolting equipment including pneumatic/electric driven hydraulic pumps.• Assist design department in prototype testing of new products.• Assist warehousing in dispatch of equipment during periods of high activity.• Adherence to procedures and use of PPE associated with the assembly and testing of high pressure equipment.• Advanced Level Apprenticeship in Engineering and BTEC Level 3 Diploma at Northumberland College.
