Ethan Draddy works with volunteers, staff and community who care about youth.With a dedication to serving increasingly more city kids and young adults, the Boy Scouts of America, Greater New York Councils maintains prominence as the leading values-based youth development organization in New York City serving more than 47,000 youth in 800 programs. Scout Executive and Chief Executive Officer Ethan Draddy has the privilege to work volunteers and staff who have developed a five year strategic plan with the goal of improving the overall quality and quantity of the Scouting and Exploring experience. The New York City Scouting and Exploring community focuses in particular on the expansion and improvement of the organization's volunteer and staff leadership at the unit, district, and council levels. In order to achieve this goal, Ethan Draddy and numerous stakeholders implement strategies such as increasing parent participation, boosting participation from minority communities and women, raising visibility, engaging alumni to grow the volunteer base, and using the Internet and social media to better prepare volunteers.In addition to improving the overall leadership of volunteers, the Greater New York Councils remains committed to bolstering the overall Boy Scouts of America experience for young people, especially economically disadvantaged and disenfranchised youth. Given the diversity in the city, Ethan Draddy, volunteers and staff work extensively to foster a strong program for at-risk youth in the five boroughs. To advance this program in the coming years, the Greater New York Councils created a number of strategies aimed at encouraging at-risk youth to excel within the Boy Scouts of America. Ethan Draddy and the Greater New York Councils provide dynamic Scout skill-development programs, growth in fundraising and giving at-risk youths a better chance to advance their rank in order to retain general interest in Boy Scouts of America.
