Western Colorado Conservation Corps is an Americorps-based nonprofit involved in a variety of conservation projects throughout Colorado and Eastern Utah. As a corps member, I participated in invasive species removal, riparian revegetation, and watershed restoration using erosion control techniques such as one-rock dams, zuni bowls, and rock rundowns.

As part of NH’s Stream Crossing Initiative, I worked with a team to perform structural, geomorphic, and aquatic organism passage (AOP) assessments of over 200 culverts throughout NH. The data collected from these assessments was used to select which structures should be replaced in order to mitigate flood risks, prevent culvert failure, and remove barriers.

I have supported the efforts of UNHSC by performing various research projects and assisting with the implementation of new stormwater management systems. From March to June 2016, I conducted an experiment to quantify nutrient load export rates from turf-landscaped areas. The findings of the study will help provide guidance on how domestic fertilizer users.
