At any stage of my life, for as long as I could remember, I've always strived to help others and create something that matters. When I was a child, it was Legos and comic strips. When I was a teen, it was designing web pages and creating comedy sketches with my friends. Now, it's my writing and my fascination with all things media-related.As a dual Media Management and Narrative Writing major at Hunter College through the CUNY BA program, I've honed my writing and my analytical mind through many writing formats whether it be screenplays, expository writing, and fiction writing. My media classes focus on social media strategies, patterns, and the pros and cons of the media age. While my education has me stretched across many areas, it was my passion and commitment that afforded me my internship with Townsquare Media helping their YouTube channel, Screen Crush, produce videos theorizing and discussing pop culture. There, I communicated and assisted the team in editing their social media shorts for TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube Shorts and took on responsibilities whenever necessary of me like writing the scripts, searching/capturing b-roll footage, editing release spreadsheets, creative work for merch, and compiling research on specific video topics and sponsorships. This internship blossomed into a freelance position where I continued to do more of what I was already doing as well as assist the process for sponsorships outside of when I was expected to come in.At the same time, I worked a deli hand customer service job at my local supermarket throughout college and through the pandemic. There I not only learned what was necessary of me but was a team player, covering for my coworkers and eventually being expected and trusted enough to lead closing the deli at nights. This along with my work volunteering and participating in extra curriculars throughout high school and college have shown me the importance of working with my community. I know for certain is that I deeply desire to be of help and inspire people through what I create just like I've been inspired by the media I consume.
