My goal is to graduate from Wilmington College with a bachelor's degree in Agricultural Business. I want to get a job that I can apply this degree to. I enjoy agriculture, and I would like to start my own farm. I plan on growing corn and soybeans and would like to be a contract grower and raise either pigs or turkeys.I worked at a top 30 hog producing company in the United States as an intern this summer. Cooper Farms pays contract growers to take care of their pigs, so my job was to ensure the growers were upholding their side of the contract. I made sure the barns were in acceptable condition, the pigs were being taken care of, and diagnosing sicknesses with proper medications. I would also communicate with the contract growers during every visit.Throughout my high school career, I have done a lot of community service. I was an FFA officer and was very involved in my school's FFA. I worked around 50 hours of community service though the FFA, running food stands, building picnic tables for the local fairgrounds, and feeding local farmers. I also have nearly 60 hours of community service working at St. Peter's Neurological Center. St. Peter's is a free program where people in need of physical therapy can go and fulfil their needs. It is run on donations and have helped hundreds of people. I was a very good work experience for me.
