Leads the assigned security detail and is responsible for the overall protective operations for their assigned Justice. The SSA is also responsible for the management of assigned officers, detail specific procedures, operations and scheduling. I manage resources, including forward-planning security roles, identifying personnel for protection duties, overtime and expense management, compliance with departmental policies and standards, review of operational plans for domestic and international travel, coordinate training of team members, and create employee evaluations of team members. I manage overtime and time off of team members. I ensure all assigned team members are in compliance with expense and travel policies. I approve travel vouchers and review monthly credit card expenditures. I conduct internal investigations for policy and conduct violations. I review daily and weekly intelligence reports for trends or circumstances that might trigger and enhanced protection profile.

• Dignitary Protection Lead Instructor responsible for training the Supreme Court’s Police Officers in the ways to safely conduct security movements. This includes the coordination of the instructor’s schedules, lesson planning, creating situational scenarios for the students and reaching out to other agencies and organizations in order to make the training and the training locations as realistic as possible. • Defensive Tactics Lead Instructor who creates lesson plans for in-service training, ensuring that the department’s officers are current in the skills and principles necessary for their personal safety and the defense of others.• Security Detail Advance Officer responsible for pre-deployment contingencies of protective operations requiring logistical and security planning for Protectees while on site at major political venues and social galas. Creates Operational Plans to ensure that detail members are informed of the logistics of the event and any and all contingency plans.• Personal Security Officer serving as the detail leader while transporting Protectees during vehicle movements between scheduled venues and when onsite at events.• Experienced Primary Driver responsible for identifying primary and secondary routes of travel, safe havens and evacuation locations.• Courtroom Security Detail Officer charged with providing protection before, during and after oral arguments and opinion deliveries.• Police Command Center Dispatch Officer. Responsible for maintaining daily logs of events occurring both inside and outside of the building, monitoring radio traffic and dispatching assistance as needed.• Arresting Officer who is well versed in arrest techniques, papering a case, coordinating with the United States Attorney’s Office and testifying on the witness stand.• Field Training Officer charged with orienting new officers to essential procedures, imparting job-related knowledge and skills, as well as evaluating their performance.
