Ambitious to make an impact using my data management knowledge, I started at Ziax with the goal to change how user data was utilised within the company. I implemented a first of its kind user analytics solution providing in-depth insights into our games and player interactions. I also leveraged cloud-based technologies to process extremely large datasets which were thought to be relatively useless in aggregate form.

I was hired initially due to a hard-drive failure caused by a misconfiguration by their previous administrator. I performed disaster recovery in an unfamiliar environment and recovered all patient data from a combination of corrupted backups and drives. After this, I was contracted to perform regular maintenance and implement a shift-to-cloud strategy for their offices. WPG was growing and needed infrastructure to support multiple offices in a hybrid environment. I implemented an Active Directory environment and configured appropriate security protocols to support those in a work-from-home environment. I also performed maintenance on various dental & electronics equipment according to manufacturer specs and manuals.

Initially working as a computer repair technician, I was focused on making the biggest impact possible within Microcad. As one of my first production-deployed software engineering projects, I implemented automatic price updating to Microcad's e-commerce website. Using the Sage300 accounting software API I designed a batch processing bridge which automatically updated prices, discounts, bundles and various other features.
