About Ethan Hocking
I'm a geek at heart, and I've always enjoyed comic books and fantasy stories. At 9 years old, I was enamored with the concept of the code behind video games, and my curiosity drove me to ask my dad for a book on programming with python. I don't think I've ever read a book faster in my life, and soon I was experimenting with code and developing small games. Ever since then, I've been pursuing knowledge in software engineering. My search brought me to a job shadow at Pivotal, now VMWare. While there, employees highly recommended that I go to the Turing School of Software and Design, a software development school made by programmers with programmers in mind. I saw this as my chance to push my understanding further and jumped at the opportunity.I'm now a professional Back End Engineer, developing with Ruby on Rails and experience with SQL, C#, Java, and Python (of course!) I hope to further my career in the software engineering industry and learn more in the field of robotics, web development or software engineering for entertainment tools...or maybe in the field of game development. Everyone loves games.
