My name is Ethan John and I was born and raised in Fort Worth, Texas. Starting at the age of 15, I began working at Chick-fil-a as a front-of-house worker. I then became a mathematics and language arts tutor at the Southlake and Colleyville Kumon locations. When I entered my senior year of high school, I moved into the retail industry as part- time worker at Tyler's. In May of 2020, I graduated with highest honors as the #5 graduate in my class from Timber Creek High School located in Keller, Texas.In August of 2020, I began my studies at Texas A&M University located in College Station, Texas, double- majoring in Geographic Information Systems and Technology (GIST) and Environmental Studies. Within my first year, I obtained a student researcher position at the Geochemical and Environmental Research Group (GERG) which is affiliated with TAMU. At GERG, we focus on assisting private companies and governmental organizations with their environmental research.The summer after my sophomore year of college, I became a GIS intern for McAdams Co. in their Roanoke, Texas office. During my 14 week internship, I learned so much about GIS products and how to assist planners, engineers, and surveyors utilizing ArcGIS programs. When I returned to TAMU for my junior year, I continued my job as a research assistant up until February of 2023. At this time, I was hired as a part- time GIS technician for the city of College Station in the Planning and Development sector. During the summer of 2023, I returned to McAdams as a GIS intern, while continuing to work for the city of College Station.I graduate Texas A&M University in May of 2024. My career goals include working for the planning and development field or oil and gas field, but in their GIS sector. I am always looking for new opportunities and connections.
