Hello, I'm Ethan Lasseigne. I recently graduated with a Bachelors of Science in Mechanical Engineering and a minor in sustainability studies from the University of Florida in Gainesville, Florida. With this degree I am seeking to combine my passions for mechanical design and renewable energy development. My coursework included gaining experience in Solidworks, Matlab, and Labview, while my manufacturing internship offered valuable experience in design for manufacturing, as well as with Mastercam and 3D printing in the production of rapid prototypes. I involved myself on campus as a member of several clubs and organizations: the Climate Action Gators, organizing and participating in climate protests and strikes to urge a climate friendly agenda, the American Society of Mechanical Engineers to develop professionally amongst my peers and local industry professionals, and as the advocacy chair for the Outdoor Area Conservation Committee.I have reached where I am today in large part thanks to Van Buren Youth Camp. I attended every summer when I was younger as a camper, spent many summers as a volunteer camp counselor, and in a past summer was on staff as the archery instructor. This was an incredibly rewarding experience that allowed me to provide the guidance and amazing memories that I was given as a camper to the thousand fresh faces that attended throughout the summer. Going forward I hope to continue returning to volunteer and revisiting the place responsible for many of my closest friends and fondest memories. When not working I remain active as a tennis player, hiker, camper, rock climber, and through community engagement. Additionally, I am an avid reader, painter, and near constant consumer of music.
