Research Interests: Lithics, Ozarks, Caddo Archaeology, Southeastern Archaeology, Hunter-Gatherers, Indigenous Archaeology, Collaborative Archaeology, Experimental Archaeology Cultural Resource Management, Community-Based Knowledge Production, Ethnography, Social MemoryI am a current PhD student at the University of Oklahoma (OU). I completed my MA here at OU in Spring 2024 with a thesis centered around ancestral Caddo stone tools collected by the Works Progress Associated in 1939-1940. My graduate advisor is Dr. Scott Hammerstedt of the Oklahoma Archaeological Survey. I am also a current Graduate Teaching Assistant for the Department of Anthropology here where I teach the asynchronous online class 'What Makes Us Human.' In my MA I held a Graduate Research Assistantship jointly controlled by the Oklahoma Archaeological Survey and the Oklahoma Department of Transportation. Before OU, I attended the Seattle Central College and transferred to the University of Washington where I graduated with a BA majoring in Medical Anthropology and Global Health in July of 2019. I also worked for the Downtown Emergency Service Center in Seattle while I attended classes at the Seattle Central College. At UW, I took several archaeology classes and spent every quarter at the Field Methods in Indigenous Archaeology research lab, going so far as to construct my own research projects inside the larger project itself. After this, I began working in Cultural Resource Management which enabled me to practice archaeology in Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Oklahoma, Kansas, Louisiana, Rhode Island, and Massachusetts. 'My most recent activities include being an invited member of the Society for American Archaeology's Diversity, Equity, Justice, and Inclusion Committee, Member Safety Committee, and Student Affairs Committee. Alongside this, I am an active member of the Southeastern Archaeological Conference's Sexual Harassment Committee and the Student Affairs Committee. I am very passionate about advocacy and doing the work required to make private and academic archaeology more equitable and just places.
