Working on finding meiotic recombination hotspots, mutant types, and other experiments with the archaea: Haloferax Volcanii

Worked primarily with the atpA gene. Answered the question if knocking this gene out of E. coli would change cell growth and bacteriophage replication.

Mentoring and aiding new BioFIRE students on their transition to college, help with classes, as well as helping run and organize BioFIRE social events.I’m also currently working with my lab group to discover how different gene knockouts in different pathways in E.Coli deal with bacteriophage replication.

Managing other camp counselors as well as campers to make everyone's experience as safe and enjoyable as possible. I'm one of the leaders of the camp and a friendly face the parents of the campers can talk to.
