I am an undergraduate in Information Science at the University of Maryland with cross-cutting interests and skills in entrepreneurship, economics, society, and technology. I started university as a Computer Science major so I have a strong foundation in Java and C (C89/90), as well as in Python and database modeling. I have excellent writing skills, and a keen ability to think across disciplines. I've interned for 2 years at Innovative Defense Technologies analyzing data and building tools for F35 jets among other things, I worked with the Smithsonian Institution to test and field their first tablet-based interactive tours and personally led tours in the museum. I was a lifeguard at pools, big and small, for multiple years providing customer service to patrons, supervising the pool, cleaning the pool and maintaining the chemicals.I was one of 90 students admitted to the University of Maryland College Park Scholars selective Business, Society & Economy (BSE) Program where I honed my skills in business management and leadership. I plan to pursue a career where I can blend my skills to deliver services and tools that move society forward and bring unexpected change to the world.
