I am seeking summer internships or part-time time entry level positions before I transfer to Texas Tech next fall. I have experience communicating and working with a large team as varsity captain for wrestling. I was responsible for running practice for the team as well as deciding which wrestlers to send to tournaments. During my internship at the Congressional Leadership Fund, I worked with another employee to organize and divide tasks to make sure the workload was fair for everyone. During this time, I also gained customer service skills by handling all different types of people over the phone and in person. The degree I want to pursue is civil engineering, as a civil engineer I want to specialize in building and maintaining bridges. I am inspired by my great grandfather who built bridges in Canada that are still used today. I will take pride in being able to work on a construction project that other people will utilize in their daily lives. In order to do all of these things, I first need to pursue a degree. I am currently attending Santa Monica Community College with the intention to transfer to Texas Tech University in 2020.
