System Security Engineering Intern
- Tested the Cyber Resiliency of a system by creating and utilizing disruptive and destructive cyber attacks. These attacks were created on a Linux Centos 7 system using Bash Scripting, and targeted random PIDs and task names, specific ranges of PIDs, and white-listed task names. The attack would kill the PID or task name given, and would try to cripple the system it was attacking.- Created a program in C to take in large amounts of files from the cyber resiliency command module, combine them into one file, and then sort them by the time the commands within the file were executed at. The files contained data on the time the attacks were commenced, and on the defenses ability to defeat the attacks and continue with the mission.- Installed hardware, software drivers, and software onto a closed loop computer system, ensuring no internet connection was ever established, while also creating an SVDA document listing instructions on how to add all software and drivers. Also completed end of program documentation for vault storage. Worked through an entire program from all aspects, including documentation, creation of product, testing and editing of product, passing mission assurance, and finishing end documentation.- Used VBScript to edit a tool in Microsoft Excel that sorts system vulnerability data into a POAM Government required document, with the data received from the Federal Government created STIG and ACAS tools. Changed pass-by-value data to become pass-by-reference data, negating the requirement to fix the program for each new customer, given their specific needs, and made column width uniform with the amount of data input, so that nothing important was hidden.
