I am from Lorain, Ohio, and I have always enjoyed math, science, and electronics. I was not sure what it was like to have an engineering job, until I entered a program offered by Project Lead the Way (PLTW). It was a set of classes spanning five semesters in high school. PLTW gave great insights on what engineers do and helped me decide that engineering is the perfect career path for helping others, while still being able to explore my interests. My goal is to find an engineering internship that can continue after graduation. One of my favorite pastimes is running. It helps me clear my mind, and I often think about problems I am suck on during runs. Volunteering at running events is also a lot of fun. It is nice to be able to help others reach their goals. So far, I have been able to maintain a 3.83 GPA at Miami. I have been enjoying classes, and I am currently working on getting a research job. I currently have an internship at Smart Bart. Smart Barn creates various sensors for farmers, such as temperature sensors, voltage meters, and dry contact sensors. Each farm also needs a gateway to transfer sensor information to a database. I am tasked with assembling and testing our products. I also designed a custom circuit board to help cut the assembly costs of each gateway.
