Quantitative Research Intern
• Developed and implemented systematic trading algorithms based on historical volatility and intraday momentum, leveraging yfinance for NVIDIA stock data collection and Pandas for data management and statistical trade analysis• Explored Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) to answer financial queries using LLMs and user-sourced PDFs• Developed a VADER sentiment analyzer that scrapes and analyzes financial headlines and plots sentiment over time
Research Intern
• Researched and implemented real-time physics-based acoustics simulation techniques for video game and virtual reality software. • Gave 45 min presentation to the Microsoft Mixed Reality Division.• Implemented multiple algorithms in C++ combining ideas in acoustics and the Fast Marching Method that significantly reduced run times, simulated and analyzed acoustic parameter data using existing toolkit and Unity
Intern
I was fortunate enough to work simultaneously on two projects as part of my year-long internship at NASA Langley Research Center's Aeroacoustics Branch. Point-to-Point 4D Ray Tracing - Explored the use of Null Geodesic Solutions for Acoustic Propagation- Investigated 4D spacetime ray solutions for acoustic propagation using MAPLE (referencing work of David Bergman)- Established 2 point BVP conditions to connect the null geodesic between an acoustic source and observer in stratified media.- Created C++ code to house basic benchmark acoustic propagation codes for comparison. Code includes straight line homogeneous propagation case.- Co-wrote 14 page Latex document outlining mathematical theory with mentor Stephanie Heath- Presented for entire NASA Langley Aeroacoustics Branch and to co-workers and colleagues as part of final exit presentation. - Resulted in abstract publication in The Journal of the Acoustical Society of AmericaDevelopment of Artificial Neural Networks in ANOPP2- Programmed Design of Experiments (DoE) routines for feature space generation (Uniform Design, Latin Hypercube, Midpoint Latin Hypercube) in Fortran for use in ANOPP2, NASA's most widely-used acoustic simulation software- Wrote unit tests and user verifications for the routines and added compatibility with C++- Implemented a deep neural network model in Python using Keras and Tensorflow to be used for aeroacoustic prediction, added methods to prevent overfitting- Wrote a Python script to grid search over 800 combinations of model hyperparameters and achieved an accuracy of ~91%.- Coded a Fortran program to allow for streamlined usage of the routines in ANOPP2 and wrote documentation.- Presented for entire NASA Langley Aeroacoustics Branch and to co-workers and colleagues as part of final exit presentation.
Research Assistant
Performed mathematical and physical modelling for a miniature broadband acoustic silencing device with colleague Jimmy Qin and Harvard Physics Professor Eric J. Heller
Bureau Of Study Council Peer Tutor
Tutor for Calculus, Series, and Differential Equations (Math 1B), Multivariable Calculus (Math 21a), Linear Algebra (Math 21b), Music Theory (Music 51a)
Learning Lab Undergraduate Fellow
-Assisted Harvard Professor of Engineering Robert Wood in restructuring ES-25 into a General Education course at Harvard-Designed a Room Acoustics Module for the course including pre-lecture reading, in-class presentation, and post-lecture assignment.
Technical Assistant Intern
-Implemented a Python script that quantifies and models the amount of transmitted force as a result of MRI vibration, aiding in the prediction and minimization of undesirable floor vibration in hospitals-Performed calculations of reverberation time in spaces and provided acoustic recommendations. -Performed multivariate curve-fitting analysis to describe the NC (noise criterion) curves in Excel. -Assisted Senior and Principal consultants in client reports and acoustic data analysis.
