Created observability tooling that revealed that the GPUs were only about 5% utilized for a very expensive platform. Identified and removed bottlenecks to GPU utilization. The project is targeting to increase that to 50% utilization. Engineered Python tooling to aggregate REST APIs. This allowed the team to replace an older system it could be decommissioned. It also revealed that the previous metrics were incorrect, and the system was utilized about 20% more than previously thought. Led git sessions to create coding standard, split up repos, implement regular code reviews, create shared packages, utilize 12 factor app practices as applied to Ops tooling.Created reusable Python packages for the team to use to pull data from various REST APIs. This reduced the duplication of code, reduced bugs and increased maintainability. Supported the IBM Spectrum platform on an on-call basis. Troubleshooted: Spark failures, Spark performance issues, Python packaging issues and Python/Pyspark coding issues.
