As soon as I turned 16 and was given permission to get a job, I immediately jumped at the opportunity. Ever since freshman year of high school, I've always wanted to be in a position where not only am I providing for myself, I'm taking some of the load off my hardworking mother. Having two younger sisters that I'd often need to take care of, I always knew it would require work and effort to get somewhere and provide for my loved ones.The beginning of my working career began at Starbucks as a barista. I would process customer transactions using a POS, craft food and custom beverages in a fast-paced enviroment, and ensure everything remained clean and stocked. Not only did this help me to work with a team, it provided a sound foundation to what to expect when working at a corporate food services job.After half a year with the company and more than satisfactory knowledge of my position, I decided to further my career and became a barista trainer and a black apron coffee master. The thirst for achievement didn't end after my time at Starbucks either. I then proceeded to achieve greatness as a To-Go specialist and then a To-Go trainer at Olive Garden.I look forward to using the foundational skills given my previous work experience along with my furthering education in computer systems and business intelligence to contribute meaningful work for my peers and future employers.
