Assisting Arch/Design students with completion of projects and safe use of power tools/machinery, while monitoring student and tool check-in, tool safety and rental, and woodshop conditions; as well as applying effective maintenance skills to keep shop conditions clean and tools functioning. Primary role is working with assisting customers and coworkers with lifting and moving heavy organic and concrete loads, but also: - Lead junior team members in assisting customers at Chalet Garden Center - Assisted head manager with organization and scheduling - Assisted with delivering store product to customers - Versatile; worked within different departments of the store to fill in whenever needed

Constructed a single-family home over the course of a school year while learning basic construction principles and skills, learned and became proficient in the use of hand and power tools safely and with proper protection, while collaborating with classmates to ensure job efficiency and quality of production. The program at ETHS constructs single-family homes for low to middle-income families, affordably priced and local to the community in Evanston. As a student, I worked with industry professionals to build a home from the ground-up, learning the design requirements and theories, as well as construction skills to build the home efficiently and to good quality. I was educated in the use of power tools, Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), and job site awareness while in the program.
