Current- Additively manufacture pure Fe and Fe-C alloys to understand mechanical behavior and phase transformations for optimized material design.- Operate a Nikon SLM Solutions SLM125HL printer to fabricate metallic samples from powder feedstock for parametric studies determining optimal laser power and scan speed combinations that lead to high part density.- Prepare a variety of metallic alloys through mounting, polishing, and etching to conduct further analysis.- Utilize optical and electron microscopy to record microstructural features for detailed material characterization.- Document relevant scientific findings and maintain thorough data records to support conclusions.
