Community Development-Assist students in their general orientation to campus and provide information about room assignments, inventories and maintenance records-Design and implement experiences for floor members to enhance social, educational, community and personal development of residents and connects them to the floor, building and university community.-Be physically available to residents on a daily basis-Transmit, by example and leadership, a positive attitude toward academic and intellectual pursuits and ensuring a floor atmosphere conducive to academic successEnforcement of University Policy-Follow and enforce all established polices and procedures-Be able to articulate polices set forth in the University's Student Code of Conduct & Residential Life and Housing Handbook-Resident Assistants are expected to report all incidents, policy violations & occurrences that breach dormitory living immediatelyAdministrative Building Management Duties-Work an average of 18-20 hours per week-Assess physical condition of rooms before and after occupancy-Conduct periodic floor meetings with the purpose of planning experiences and disseminating informationCrisis Management Responsibilities-Assist, as requested, in the handling of all emergency situations (fire, health, safety)-Assist with crowd control and maintaining order during breaches of peace-Accompany university personnel to designated shelter in place location

The Leadership, Education & Advancement in Undergraduate Research Pathways Program (L.E.A.P) is designed for undergraduate students to gain research experience in order to ensure a smooth transition to graduate school.I was assigned to a research lab & mentoring team with a graduate student and professional mentor.We conducted research on a center of transportation training and research (CTTR) topic of "Teleworking and Tele-learning" and COVID-19's impact on these experiences. Both students and workers were examined using socioeconomic data and school ratings from the Texas Education Agency.As L.E.A.P scholars, we participated in grand round sessions which included journal club or researchseminar led by postdocs, research scientists, graduate students, or faculty within a specific research pathway. There was also a leadership summit that focused on Covid-19 & Pandemic responsiveness training on innovation, entrepreneurship, resume writing, interview skills, DISC personality assessment, team science and professionalism.
