I spearhead multiple projects that aim to educate staff and physicians on radiation safety and production, best imaging practices, as well as track radiation usage to look for areas of improvement for the implementation of ALARA. I like to create visual education resources and lectures on the different aspects of X-ray radiation along with other technical topics within the Cardiac Cath Lab.I also have the privilege of working as a preceptor for eager minds looking to enter the interventional cardiology field. Although I've only been in the interventional cardiology field for little over 2 years, I've found an aptitude for teaching this difficult job regardless of the intense environment that typically makes learning near impossible. I take great pride in the training I have been blessed to give to 3 extremely talented professionals so far. I often work on difficult and complex cases that span High-risk PCI with Impella support, ECMO, structural heart (TAVR, Mitraclips, Watchman, ASA, PFO/ASD closures), and CTO's. Scrubbed, Circulated. Scrubbing was limited to PICC insertions, Groshong catheter insertions, Port placements, removals, and checks, IVC filter insertions, Peg tube insertions. I also independently assist the PA or NP for any paracentesis and thoracentesis case.I could circulate most cases, with exception to neuro cases (limited assistance).
