As a user researcher, my focus lies in understanding patients, providers, and their clinical context to shape the design, implementation, and evaluation of our product.

Continuing my MSc dissertation, I conducted design research for the 'CARE: Diabetes in Ghana' project, exploring digital strategies to empower the community of Ga-Mashie to manage and prevent type 2 diabetes. With an emphasis on engagement and co-design, I worked with the community to identify challenges and shape a solution. This involved supporting community leaders to participate in healthcare and integrate with the formal system through a mobile-based service.

I was responsible for editing and reviewing academic papers prior to their publication in MDPI's academic journals. I specialised in the fields of behavioural science and healthcare research.

I proposed, researched and designed a mobile platform to support interactions between mental healthcare providers and institutions in South Africa. This project was conducted voluntarily for The Counselling Hub to gain practical design experience.

I was responsible for providing counselling services and cognitive-behavioural interventions to those suffering from basic mental health problems and distress. As much of this role was over COVID, my primary focus areas were anxiety and depression related to isolation, financial stress and domestic abuse.

I provided intermittent consulting on the development of an online rehabilitation program, sponsored by SAFMH. My role was to offer guidance to the stakeholders during the early stages of the design cycle, with a focus on user research and project management.

I assisted in the collection, cleaning and analysis of qualitative data for social psychology research exploring empowering and non-empowering communication in intergroup dialogues about Apartheid. The research was being conducted in collaboration with the University of Cape Town.

Volunteering with Joe Slovo Clinic, I coordinated logistics with community partners and clinical volunteers to help with the operation of their mobile healthcare facility.

I provided basic healthcare services through SHAWCO's mobile clinics in the informal settlements of Joe Slovo and Khayelitsha. These services largely involved screening, health promotion, and managing common illnesses, as well as referrals into the formal system for further care.
