About Ethan Yoo
I am a recent graduate from the Master of Information (MI) program at Rutgers University, where I was a fellow at the Eagleton Institute of Politics and The Boggs Center on Disability and Human Development. I also contributed to research and instruction across the Rutgers-New Brunswick Libraries, the Center for Research on Ending Violence, and the Department of Library and Information Science. I currently work at the Administration for Children and Families (ACF) within the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), conducting program evaluation and data analysis in the Office of Human Services Emergency Preparedness and Response (OHSEPR).My primary research interests are disability and health, poverty and social policy, and social vulnerability to climate change. My long-term goal is to lead mixed methods research projects that contribute to evidence-based policymaking and improved outcomes for children, families, and communities across the United States. As a result, I have applied to PhD programs for fall 2025 matriculation. As New Jersey's Data Ambassador for the State of the States in Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities project, I am familiar with the project's unique longitudinal data on U.S. states' public financing of intellectual and developmental disability services (e.g., funding for community-based settings and the adoption of emerging technologies).I am a first-generation college graduate of Swarthmore College, where I was a special major in political science and educational studies. During an AmeriCorps VISTA service year, I also earned a second bachelor's degree in computer science at Thomas Edison State University before starting the MI program at Rutgers University.Pronouns: he/him/hishttps://ethanyoo.com/
