As an early member of the Recommendation Engine team, I developed many components of the feature extraction and recommendation pipeline, which powers tens of recommendation and analytics products at Linkedin. Using that framework, I also developed sub-systems and algorithms for the following verticals:- Jobs You May Be Interested In (recommending jobs to members)- Talent Match (recommending candidates to recruiters)- Similar Jobs- Data Standardization

I was technical lead for Contextual Shortcuts, a product that highlights interesting entities in text and provides contextual information about the entities. I was responsible for the architecture and development of the Javascript library for its dynamic web interface. The product was a feature in Yahoo! Mail and Yahoo! News.I started at Yahoo! in the Shopping and Real Estate group, developing the application front-end for both consumers and listing providers. I wrote web pages and UI modules using PHP, Perl, and Javascript.

At Oracle I developed Claims Management software for Fortune 100 companies. I was a key contributor and engineer of the accrual payment product, a significantly large piece of software written in Java and PL/SQL to handle complex business logic. In addition, I integrated the product with several other Oracle Applications, including Partner Management, General Ledger, Receivables, Payables, and Order Management.

I worked with two other engineers in this seven-people startup to develop an Application Server for dynamic web applications. The system consists of a browser-based designer suite, where dynamic graphical applications can be built using interactions such as drag-and-drop, and a server backend to host such applications. I was solely responsible for the design and implementation of the Java-based back-end system and the client-server communication protocols. I designed a language for associating data with graphical properties, and implemented a mechanism for updating graphics in the browser using AJAX technologies long before AJAX the acronym was coined.
