As the WPN Events Organizer for Coy's Comics, I receive requests from my Judges as to the type of tournaments they would like to run. Taking that into consideration, I schedule these events with Wizards of the Coast so that players can use online tools to find such events easily. After the events, I report back to Wizards with the turnout and the DCI numbers of members who played.
This volunteer position entailed the editing of various writers' works. Some things were fictional stories while others were strategy editorials that were published regularly to the website.While this was an enjoyable position, I didn't stick with it very long, moving on to other endeavors that seemed to be more profitable at the time.I would love to do this again (or a position like it) when I have more free time and can devote more of my attention to it, especially if it were to be a paid position.
My primary task was afternoon shipping and receiving of blood products. I also processed blood products that were brought from fixed and mobile sites into components that could be stored, tested, and redistributed as needed.During nights tht I was on call, I took orders over the phoone and would drive in to fill the orders and get them to the hospitals in a timely manner.As computer/technology problems would occur, I would fix anything I could while documenting the proceedure. If I could not fix the problem directly, I would contact the main office's Information Technologies staff and send tasks their way.This position required a lot of time management, donor confidentiality, and motivation.
During this job, I was situated in all departments of the store (Hardlines, Video, Music, Books, Receiving, Customer Service) at one point or another. Each department had its merits but I enjoyed Customer Service most as I was able to interact with the customer and my fellow Customer Service Employees.Being knowledgeable in all the departments made me a sure bet for floating to different departments as the need arose.Here, knowing how people want to be treated and knowing the product makes day to day tasks simple.
