With over three decades of experience in cannabis activism, I am proud to serve as Vice President and Co-Owner of Berkeley Patients Group (BPG), the nation's oldest continuously operating medical cannabis dispensary, established in 1999. Our mission at BPG is to provide safe, high-quality cannabis to our patients while leading the industry as it expands, evolves, and becomes more professional.Throughout my career, I have founded medical and recreational cannabis retail, cultivation, and processing facilities in various locations, including Berkeley, Emeryville, Incline Village, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Reno, Sparks, and West Hollywood.My journey in cannabis advocacy began in 1993 as a director of the Cannabis Action Network. There, I traveled through 47 U.S. states, speaking at rallies, teach-ins, and rock' n'roll tours to educate the public on cannabis-related issues. I have lobbied local, state, federal, and international governments for cannabis rights and continue to advocate for the use of cannabis and natural medicines on behalf of veterans.As an Army combat veteran of Desert Storm and former member of the WV Army National Guard, I understand the importance of safe and legal access to cannabis for veterans. My dedication to this cause led to the founding of the Veterans Action Council and my role on the advisory board for the Battle Brothers Foundation, reflecting my ongoing commitment to advocacy and support for veterans and the broader cannabis community.I'm a founding board member of the National Cannabis Industry Association (NCIA), where I served from 2010 to 2020, including a term as Board Chair from 2012 to 2013.
