Etienne Paul is a professor in the GPE Department at INSA Toulouse and a researcher at TBI (Toulouse Biotechnology Institute). He has been teaching and carrying out research for over 30 years in the field of biological reactors and waste and effluent treatment and recovery processes. His research focuses on biofilms and fixed biomass reactors, anaerobic digestion, the production of bioplastics and alginates from waste, composting and the modelling of microbial population dynamics within reactors. He has published over 70 international peer-reviewed publications, co-edited a book, supervised 25 doctoral students and 5 post-doctoral students, as well as 20 master's research students.Etienne Paul est professeur à l’INSA de Toulouse, au Département GPE et chercheur à TBI (Toulouse Biotechnology Institute). Il enseigne et réalise sa recherche, depuis plus de 30 ans, dans le domaine des réacteurs biologiques et des procédés de traitement et valorisation des déchets et effluents. Ses recherches portent sur les biofilms et réacteurs à biomasse fixée, la digestion anaérobie, la production de bioplastiques et d’alginates à partir de déchets, le compostage et la modélisation de la dynamique de populations microbiennes au sein de réacteurs. Il a publié plus de 70 publications internationales référencées, a co-édité un livre, supervisé 25 doctorants et 5 post-doctorants ainsi qu’une 20ène de master recherche
