Client Services North America – AdaptivLed a team of eight providing 24/7 second and third level support for all hosted North American clients. Responsible for all preventative, trend analysis, service-level review, and system operations including Risk End of Day. EoD being an overnight process comprising of trade and market data intake, rebuilding customer portfolios, processing analytics, and extract generation for downstream systems.o Incident Investigation and Resolution: Owned incidents though their full life cycle. This included the customer relationship, escalations, coordinating with other teams, debugging the failing process by reviewing code, identifying the root cause, proposing or implementing workarounds and long term solutions.o System Deviation Monitor: Architected an operations monitoring system that tracked all SQL jobs within Adaptiv regardless of purpose or complexity. Generated alerts when steps ran longer than historical averages factoring in standard deviation. The flexible design adapted to changes in the product over time and allowed the system to fail in predictable ways.o SQL Lead: Created the department SQL coding standards. Trained team members ranging from new graduates to department mentors. Reviewed key projects ensuring they were efficient, maintainable, and could be easily enhanced.o Disaster Recovery Process: Designed a highly dynamic, easily updated disaster recovery runbook. Built to accommodate simple addition of steps, links to detailed actions, accommodate a variety of users posted across various time zones.

Application Development – IT Operations & AnalyticsSpearheaded the creation of a team responsible for IT application development. Prioritized requests from multiple departments based on organization needs and available resources. Managed ten developers and coordinated architecture projects across departments. Developed a streamlined process to quickly resolve issues, reducing average turnaround time down to 4 hours.o Enterprise Database: Designed, implemented, and supervised the creation of the company's first enterprise database (EDB). This included migrating from Microsoft SQL to Oracle, defining live ETL, migrating / remodelling external data sources, and creating new structures to simplify or expedite data manipulation.o Virtual Development Environment: Created infrastructure and deployment model for distributed virtual machines based on VMware. Architected web-based deployment process to propagate the VM image from the server infrastructure to desktops. Final deployment involved 60 PC’s and over 120 VM’s.o Role Based Security: Architected data model for corporate level security covering over 800 employees that was deployed to Active Directory and Oracle Database. Supported cross-functional teams and application specific exceptions. Analyzed on-going access requirements and technical specification of organization structure to ensure alignment.o Controls Project: High visibility project to align organization with Sarbanes-Oxley standards. Developed 60 reports based on ASP and Oracle SQL that supplied key figures to the corporate financial statements.o Environment Replication Architecture: Designed and lead an infrastructure initiative to safely replicate the Production Environment for different functional groups including Development, Quality Assurance, and Finance. The outcome of this project allowed the organization to address complex problems by providing multiple production-like environments.

Application Development – Performance AnalyticsArchitected web-based solutions using Oracle PL/SQL and Microsoft Transact-SQL for the investments division of a $100 billion pension fund. Designed advanced algorithms and efficient SQL to operate on very large data sets in better than acceptable run-times. o ETL System: Architected and developed an entire ETL toolkit with an emphasis on modularity. The system consolidated data from hundreds of external batch feeds with a wide variety of formats. Incorporated advanced logging to expedite resolution of exceptions in the communication or data streams.o Total Fund Exposure Reports: Developed a suite of total fund investment reports covering currency, asset, and hedge exposure. These reports were designed to produce timely and accurate results due to their direct input to the overall fund investment strategy.
