  • Aeronautique
    Contract Mechanical Engineer
    Aeronautique Sep 2014 - Feb 2016
AeroNautique is a small lab that performs destructive tests on custom aircraft interiors. As a contract engineer at AeroNautique, I started out operating a manual 3-axis Bridgeport Kneemill machining parts out of aluminum and stainless steel. In addition to working on the Bridgeport, I learned to TiG weld fixtures. I also learned to assemble parts and inspect test fixtures according to stringent FAA specifications and to generate engineering reports over 500 pages long once the process, graphs, analysis, and pictures were included. I detailed blueprints and produced 3D CAD models in SolidWorks 2014 using both top-down modeling and bottom-up modeling. In preperation for tests, I assisted in the calibration of load cells and actually performed some tests using a 36,000 [lbf] tensile tester.
  • Npdc
    Engineering Intern
    Npdc Aug 2015 - Dec 2015
    Stillwater, Ok, Us
OSU-Tulsa, New Product Development Center (NPDC)The NPDC connects manufacturers, inventors, and small business startups with engineering technology. As an engineer at the NPDC, I analyzed clients’ needs to determine the best solution for their product or process improvement designs, and then develop a prototype that would provide the greatest benefit to their production capabilities. Throughout the design process I would meet with the client and then deliver a full engineering report when the project drew to a close. For one particular project, I wrote a VBA script to crunch through several iterations of a design problem we were facing with bolt holes through thin sheet metal. We also used SolidWorks 2014 & 2015 for the CAD modeling and Finite Element Analysis (FEA).
  • Npdc
Grader For Mae 3013 - Engineering Analysis
    Npdc Aug 2015 - Dec 2015
    Stillwater, Ok, Us
While working with Dr. Khaled Sallam, it was my responsibility to grade homework, assignments, and exams for MAE 3013 - Engineering Analysis. It was also my responsibility to convey suggestions to Dr. Sallam concerning areas where the students needed improvement. MAE 3013 is a numerical analysis class that is intended to cover the majority of the mathematics that mechanical engineers use in real-world applications. Even though I had previously taken this class, I learned a great deal from working with Dr. Sallam and the other TA's.
  • Npdc
    Mechanical Engineering Student
    Npdc Jan 2014 - Dec 2015
    Stillwater, Ok, Us
I transferred to Oklahoma State University in the Spring of 2014. It was a difficult transition - I was allowed to skip the Engineering Analysis prerequisite class that was only offered in the Fall so that I could jump right into System Dynamics as well as Measurements & Instrumentation. Additionally, I took Thermo 2 and Fluid Dynamics. Oklahoma State University was not kidding around - it was a shock to the system. If I hadn't met the friends I made that semester I have no idea how I would have survived. We banded together, however, and by the time we graduated we had become a force to be reckoned with! I'm so thankful for my wife, my friends, my professors, and my employers who were understanding of my hours; I never walked alone.
  • The Difference, Inc
    Custom Drapery Installer
    The Difference, Inc 2009 - 2014
My dad started The Difference, Inc. in June of 1981 after the custom drapery business where he worked closed down. When I was old enough to go to work with him, he would take me on jobs until I learned enough to do it on my own. My brothers and I all worked for the family business at some time or another, and those were good and formative years. My dad believed in Col. 3:23, "Whatever you do, do it heartily, as to the Lord and not man." We worked until the job was done, and we did our best. We installed custom window treatments for interior designers. Based in Tulsa, and primarily operating in Tulsa, we would occasionally be sent to install draperies in places such as North Carolina, Dallas, TX., Las Vegas, NV., & Miami, FL. . working for a few years at a custom drapery business. My responsibilities included:β€’ Installation of custom window treatments for interior designersβ€’ Presentations and installation demonstrations at seminars for up to 50β€’ Troubleshooting application issues of hardware
  • Tulsa Community College
    Honors Ambassador
Tulsa Community College Jan 2013 - Dec 2013
    Tulsa, Oklahoma, Us
Tulsa Community College is one of the outstanding things about Tulsa. When I joined the Honors Program, I learned that if I maintained my GPA then they would pay up to 18 hours of my tuition per semester. Not only that, but if I graduated with the appropriate GPA then they would send $2500 per semester for 2 years to Oklahoma State University, should I choose to attend that school. You can imagine how excited I was! As a result of my enthusiasm, I was asked to become an Honors Ambassador, of which there were only 5 others. This simply meant that I would get paid for what I was already doing: spreading the word about the Honors Program. I advertised the program by speaking in front of classrooms, talking to people I never would have otherwise met, and gave a speech at the end of the year Honors Banquet. It was a wonderful program, and I feel a debt of gratitude for both the Honors Program and Tulsa Community College for aiding me in my journey through higher education.
