Hello, my name is Etoile Boots, and I am a rising senior at Minerva University studying Data Science and Art with career interest in tech for some of the world's most pressing issues regarding rapid urbanization and climate change effects. What you will most likely see on my LinkedIn page is an agglomeration of different research experiences and passions, which fundamentally shape me both professionally as a career generalist and personally as an individual fascinated with learning various frames of thinking and academia. Three years ago now, I turned down an opportunity that--at the time--seemed most fitting for career aspirations in sustainable architecture, to study and travel at Minerva University. This led me to only a mild career crisis, studying in 6 (soon to be 7) major cities, and most importantly, a re-evaluation of my values and hopes for a career. While I am still exploring my interests through university and outside, I am drawn to work on improving the ways we may plan for daily, and extreme events in urban spaces. This summer (2024) I will be working at the University of Florida's sustainable and secure transportation REU to begin to explore the question of safe and mobile environments!
