Managing end-to-end supply chain of a capital project for Suncor Energy's Downstream, including contracting, procurement and logistics (warehousing and transportation).Spent the first five months implementing the integration of the new Suncor (following the merger with Petro-Canada). Under the umbrella of the supply chain optimization, this was largely to realize the merger synergies in what came to be known as MERGER RESPONSE.

Managing strategic sourcing for the downstream, including the over $1 billion dollar Coker project at Montreal.The last four months planning the integration of the Supply Chain Management functions of both Petro-Canada and Suncor Energy Inc. preparatory to their intended merger in August. This was mainly to ensure the realization of the synergies envisaged by the merger.

Responsibility for the management of a 30-person Supply Chain Management team that looked after the following categories: IT Hardware & Software, Transmission & Communications, Seismic, Security & HSE, Manpower, Avition, Marine Services, Land Logistics and Facilities Management. Total annual spend was over $500 million. Also implemented and managed the High Volume procurement process.

Leading the design of the SAP Blueperint Materials Management (Logistics) processes for Shell EP companies. Led the MM implementation in 3 companies: Petroleum Development Oman, Shell Gabon and Shell Petroleum Development Company of Nigeria.

A challenging job involving the development, optimization and co-ordination of production methods in the plant, studying of layout, posts and procedures problems in the factory to improve efficiency and through-put, and establishing pay criteria. Key challenges included the measurement and determination of production levels and balancing these against optimum resources (manpower and equipment) needed in a production-based wage environment.
