My main responsibility is the purchase and sale of surplus flexible packaging materials, including maintaining existing supplier relationships and acquiring new ones. I additionally provide oversight to the Receiving and Processing team leads, ensuring efficient scheduling for the receipt and processing of materials. While developing new and ongoing business with domestic manufacturers and converters, I am also responsible for assembling and marketing container loads of processed materials on hand. I manage sales of export materials to existing buyers and identify and qualify new customers.

As Plant Manager, my duties shifted to lead shipping & receiving operations. Collaborating with our Logistics, Purchasing, and Sales leads, I was responsible for efficient unloading and loading of the day's in-bounds and outs. I delegated and directed the flow of materials from Receiving, to Processing, to Inventory, and back out the door via Shipping. Regular morning standup meetings kept all team members moving in the same direction, with follow-ups through the course of the day. What I enjoyed most about my role as Plant Manager was the opportunity to teach others and take an active part in developing their skill set at the company. As each team member learns more, the more valuable they become to the company, and the more opportunities open up for success within the organization. I provided forklift operator certification training, regular safety meetings, and was responsible for procurement of warehouse supplies and PPE.

Materials are sorted and entered into the database inventory system. Gained familiarity with operating forklifts, floor scales, hydraulic shear, upright and horizontal balers, and a dual-shaft industrial shredder.
